Could you be our newest Computer Numerical Control Machine Operator?
We are looking for an operator preferably with CNC experience to work within our busy workshop. We have a range of machines but most of them are laser based. Micrometric has a reputation within the industry of producing complex parts using lasers, including laser cutting, laser welding, laser drilling and laser marking. We also have a range of other machines including a Haas Machining center, Jones and Shipman surface grinder and Agie Wire Eroder. We are looking for someone to the join the team who has engineering fingers, likes variety and is diligent. We have a flexible team working approach and operators are expected to work where required to suit production demands.
Responsibilities
- Oversees machinery setup for each job, making sure it is safe and optimised
- Loads materials onto the machines
- Cuts, grinds, machines and cleans required parts and optimises the machine to ensure the best quality and most efficient use
- Regular inspects and maintains the machine
- If required problem solves to ensure parts are made to drawing
- Carries out inspection on parts to ensure they conform to drawing
- Regular maintains machines resolving any maintenance or safety issues
- Adheres to schedule and reports any issues if not able to process jobs to drawing or within alloted time
- Maintains and updates records about the machines operations and performance
- Committed to ongoing development via attendance of relevant courses and keeping uptodate on general engineering developments
- Has a high level of Health and Safety awareness for themselves and other team members
- Conforms to Health & Safety rules and guidelines
- Works flexibly within a team
Qualifications
- Technical/engineering background would advantageous as would any technical/engineering qualifications
- Experience of working in an engineering workshop would be advantageous
- Engineering talent
- Computer skills
- Problem solving skills
- Logical thinking and approach
- Detail orientated
- Good communication skills both written and oral
- Health & Safety awareness
