Chippy Quiz: An Evening of Fun and Fundraising for Charity
For the third year running we were headline sponsor for Shooting Star’s annual Chippy Quiz, and we thought we would improve our odds for winning by entering two teams of quizzers.
Lincoln-based PR and marketing agency Shooting Star host its Chippy Quiz every year in aid of a local charity, and this year it welcomed 18 teams and beat the record for money raised at the quiz for the Charity of the Year with a grand total of £1,571.73.
The money raised will go to The Network, Shooting Star’s Charity of the Year for 2024. The agency raised a further £200 from a sponsored sports challenge in August, bringing the overall donation to £1,762.36.
The 72 keen quizzers were put through their paces in eight categories including general knowledge, words, TV and film, a sound round, around the world, sport, history and a picture round. Everyone enjoyed a fabulous fish and chip supper provided by the event hosts, The Elite Fish and Chip Company.
Using our expertise in laser etching we created two special trophies for the event:
- The overall winner’s trophy was awarded to team ‘Heaven is a Plaice on Earth’ who also won a hamper of wine donated by Saul Fairholm.
- The best team name trophy was won by Streets who competed under the name ‘Frying Nemo’ and they also received a case of wine donated by the event hosts.
There was also a raffle with 16 prizes kindly donated by local businesses or individuals.
